This policy explains how Steward Foundry collects, uses and protects personal data submitted through stewardfoundry.com.

Who we are

Steward Foundry is being established in England and Wales, with its office at 20 Kew Road, Richmond, London, TW9 2NA, United Kingdom. Steward Foundry is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can contact us about anything in this policy at privacy@stewardfoundry.com.

The personal data we collect

• Contact details, including name, email address, telephone number and location.
• Organisation, role and professional details.
• Information submitted in a business owner enquiry, including details of the company and its trading position.
• Steward Programme application data, including any CV or supporting document you upload.
• Adviser referral data.
• Newsletter subscription data.
• Technical and analytics data, subject to your cookie preferences.

Why we process it, and on what basis

We process enquiry and referral data in order to assess and respond to your enquiry, on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and where relevant in order to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.

We process Steward Programme applications in order to assess candidates, on the same bases.

We process newsletter data on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message.

We process analytics data on the basis of your consent where consent is required.

Special category data

We do not ask for special category personal data. Please do not include health information, or details of any other person, in a free-text enquiry field.

Who we share it with

We may share information with professional advisers and service providers involved in assessing or progressing a potential transition — including solicitors, accountants, tax advisers, prospective capital partners and prospective owner-stewards — but only where it is necessary, only with your knowledge, and under appropriate confidentiality terms.

We use third-party service providers for website hosting, email and analytics, who process data on our instructions.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for third-party marketing.

International transfers

Where personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom, we put appropriate safeguards in place, relying on adequacy regulations or on the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum as applicable.

How long we keep it

Enquiry data that does not proceed: 24 months from last contact. Unsuccessful Steward Programme applications: 12 months, unless you ask us to keep your details on file. Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe. Data relating to a completed or attempted transaction: for the period required by law and by our professional obligations. We review retention periods annually.

Your rights

You have the right to be informed about how we use your data; to request access to it; to have inaccurate data corrected; to request erasure; to request that we restrict processing; to data portability; to object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests; and rights in relation to automated decision-making. We do not make decisions about candidates or enquiries by automated means alone.

To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@stewardfoundry.com. We will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you believe we have not handled your personal data properly, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, by telephone on 0303 123 1113, or in writing to Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
